hellbaby1After watching the Conjuring in cinema, I watched this Hell Baby last weekend. It was a comedy horror film so I was interested to see what the film could give to the viewers. This film was all about a couple who moves into a house that is said to be the most haunted in New Orleans, a deadly demonic curse filled the house. The Vatican’s elite team of exorcist came to save them from a satanic baby.

The film had the right cast which was the strong point of this movie. The acting of each of the cast was really good. They did their very best in bringing their characters in the film. They threw funny jokes very well which will get you interested to see more of the movie. It was just a cheap humor which was something stupid, but for me it could make me laugh. I liked Jack’s character here and I think he had the best character in the film. I liked the way he freaks out when there were abnormal happenings and he yells like a lunatic person. I also liked some of the other actors in the movie.

Hell Baby was not showing anything serious, just making fun about the whole thing that was happening in the entire film, especially hellbaby2between Heaven and Hell. It was an average film. There was a horror of it when a demonic person who appeared instantly, but the comedy on it was overpowering. For me, I liked it because of too many hilarious and absurd jokes. However, this film was not the best one, but at least the creators of this film offered silly jokes and hilarious performances.

On the other hand, the downside of this film was that it was not perfectly made. There were some flaws in the script and the jokes and gags are quite common, but for me I appreciated that way they delivered their jokes. At least the actors presented the dialogues quite well even hellbaby3though the jokes were ordinary. Probably, not all of the movie goers could appreciate this film since most of the characters here were doing goofy, but viewers like me who could appreciate simple jokes, this movie is one to watch.

If you like horror comedy and you can appreciate simple jokes, then “Hell Baby” is absolutely the film you must watch. There are fun and entertainment you can find in the film.

Untitled-1Finally, the second movie of Insidious was released last September 13. The Insidious: Chapter 2 is a much awaited film because of its predecessor’s influence as a successful horror movie and a box office hitter due to its high sales worldwide. The first chapter was so memorable that many of its satisfied viewers want to see the continuation of the story and to feel that same horror excitement.

The expectation of the viewers was pleased as chapter 2 really does continue where the Lambert family experience left off. To steal a look on the story, Josh Lambert, played by Patrick Wilson, has successfully saved his son from a creepy creature in the spirit world as the finale of the first chapter. Little that they know, a spirit cling to Josh and cross over to the world of the living. Here is where the chapter two revolves, the unwanted spirit induces again a string of horror and with some help from other people they have found out a secret that haunts their family.

A feeling of shortness in the story

The story is great and riding on the expectation of the people but the movie is somewhat short in satisfying the people. It may be that viewers have expected so much from the movie based on their experience on the first film. It may also be because of their horror style and concept is the so alike with the first movie that people got familiar with their scare approach. Although, the shock, fear and revulsion are there, it feels so incomplete or to make it sound good, it’s just average based on what the first movie present.

People’s opinion on film series is often a comparison between the present and the past. As expected, critics and viewers alike will automatically diverge in their opinion on the two films. While other strongly said that the first is always greater and it proves correct in the second movie, there are viewers and critics that are vocal to present their thoughts and views. For some the first film is more horrifying and intense but there are people stating that the second movie surpass the first and it is more horrid.

People who have watched the Insidious: Chapter 2 have their different opinions. One may say it is better than the first while others will say it is weaker compare to the original movie. To have your own view of the movie it is better to simply watch it. If it makes you scream and you enjoy it then it is good and if it does not, then this film is simply not that great.

the last exorcismThe Last Exorcism Part II is a sequel of the 2010 horror movie. The latter got a better rating and as what I saw it has a great story and acting performance compare to this latest sequel. I could say that the first film is much better and it showed a sense of true horrendous and horror storyline. Since the first film achieved 100 million sales, the producer thought he could repeat this success and glory in this second part. At this point the latest film didn’t really satisfy the expectation of the viewers.

About the story and the acting

Not like in the first movie that has an interesting series of events, this film was all about how Nell (Ashley Bell) tries to recuperate after the upshots of the first film. So, it focused only on Nell how she recovered on those previous events which make the story dull. The scares and fears were quite little and seeing Nell winging above the bed was actually a common and draggy, since it can always be seen in other films. There were also less emotions entangled and for me it looked very artificial. They just act as what it should. The acting was not that good and the story was cluttered. The plot was flat, messy and the film was lacking of bloodshed, fear, dread and terror. It has full of weird and unusual people and it showed only just dull weird scenes. There were many senseless moments you could find on the film and I couldn’t concentrate on the sequence of the events since it was so mixed up.

The title “the last exorcism”

In this film, the title “the last exorcism” could not really be found or focused unlike on the first one that the title was completely fitted. As what I have seen, it only occupied a little portion of the screen time so it was so easy to forget and could not be planted in the mind of the viewers.

Attempted Scares

Most of the attempted scares are generated from the gentle music playing before there is a high decibel blast with loud noises. Director Ed Gass- Donnelly was not that imaginative and creative in order to create true scary scenes. He deserved a whole lot of blame on this movie since the entire movie production was on his hands. The graphics were all quite monotonous and foreseeable. If the horror movie lacked of scares would surely disappoint the expectation of the viewers and most especially if it is poorly presented or delivered.

Even though The Last Exorcism Part II got a small rating and not as good as the first one, you can still try to watch this film since every watcher have different eyes and rendition.
