In year 1920s, Bruce Wayne travelled abroad for about twenty years next to the killing of his parents Martha Wayne and Thomas Wayne, searching for the answers behind that criminal mind. While examining the vanishing of Oswald Cobblepot’s journey crew, Bruce subdues the undead crewman, Grendon that was freeing the otherworldly creature covered in ice. Bruce, the protégés Dick Grayson, Kai Li Cain, Sanjay “Jay” Tawde, plus the butler Alfred Pennyworth retrieved Grendon and then return to the Gotham City, not aware that Grendon had been infected with an entity’s parasites, and with Jay staying at the ship to observe over him.

Coming at the Wayne Manor, Bruce together with his team were shocked to discover the body of the professor Kirk Langstrom at the library, since Bruce hallucinated the demon talking through it with the vice of Langstrom. After he organizes the corpse of Langstrom, Bruce was visited Jason Blood, the demon host Etrigan, who informed Bruce of the ritual which should be performed with the death, and also the Gotham destruction.

Dick, Bruce, and Kai Li invited later for dinner at the mansion of the hunter Oliver Queen. They also met Harvey Dent, who told them about the obsession of Langstrom with the bats that he was studying. Donning the suit of bat-themed of his making, under an alias of Batman, Bruce, investigated the work of Langstrom at the Robin’s Row, that has been link to a Cult of Ghul, the crowd who worship the ancient demonic divinity, with the Ghul Testament being a tool required for a ritual. Seeking that Testament, he stumbled upon Talia, the cult member who stole it to resurrect Ra’s al Ghul, her father.
Writer’s Observation

The movie does not live up into a potential of the lovecraftian take over the world of Dark Knight but it is a still good thank to the reasonably engaging core mystery and the period setting that permits it to have fun with the events and the pre-established characters.
David Giuntoli is the best batman once again, and he is not given particularly memorable idea but he certainly had the needed gravitas for this character. The other voice casts were all fine, and with some of the DC animated veterans is fine if in forgettable form.
The movie animation is overall great, it is nowhere near as chic as it could have been, however it really looks nice. The music mostly goes unnoticed, however, does have some moments where it comes to life. Also, the longer movie run time is appreciated also, even when the ending felt a bit rushed.
