Keramat 2: Caruban Larang, 2022
This is an Indonesian mockumentary horror movie by director Monty Tiwa as the sequel to the Keramat of 2009. This movie was produced by the Starvision Plus with the Moviesta Pictures that may be shown at Indonesian cinemas.

Story Outline
Three dance students, Maura, Jojo and Arla went to the Cirebon to do their final project research with a theme of Cirebon masks dance. They were aided by the boyfriend of Arla, documentary filmmaker Umay, together with the friends of Umay, YouTubers Keanu and Ajil, who used the chance travel to look to haunted locations at Cirebon area as their video material for the channel, known as Mistis, Kocak, n’ Total.
Through the assistance of the local resident named as Badriyah, they were bound for the Caruban Larang dancing studio which actually had not been utilized for the longest time. Meeting together with Pak Djalil, they’ve taken facts that Mimi Kemuning, owner of the Caruban Larang, had locked the dance studio because of the disagreement with the government. Whereas searching for Mimi Kemuning’s location, Mr. Djalil permitted them to stay for the night at the Caruban Larang with a caveat that they didn’t open a box inside a gamelan room.
But, the box was unlocked by Badriyah who didn’t know about that ban. Inside that box are dance make-up equipments and artifacts, and also a dancer photo. Even though initially apprehensive, Maura, Jojo and Arla, became excited right after being told of their lecturer that those artifacts proved the survival of the Cirebon dance which was lost since 1940. They plan to create the search for the dance which is their research topic. The actions were finally found by Mr. Djalil. Then he explained that a person in the picture in the box had been Suryani, the legendary dancer at Kacirebonan Palace. Suryani had been the last dancer at Caruban Larang dance, that ever since she left that palace, the dance had no successors.
Writer’s Observation
The story is expected and rather boring, and what makes it worse is that their actors are not really that good at acting.
The concept is distinctive, but they had messed up with their actors and in the end, which is highly substandard. They could have created the best movie when they used their real actors and not the influencers who are doing Tiktok and take daily pictures on Instagram. The best movie is not based on how popular the actors are; it’s great because they have the good acting and the solid story skills.
Everything about the movie is pathetic, from the beginning to its end! Looks like there are some school learner’s that just took his telephone camera and then made this film for fun. You will surely try harder to at least like something about this movie, but it failed. There’s no story, all the actors are horrible. If you are reading this right now, then I can say that you can make the best version of this movie.
