Writer’s Observation

The movie is the throwback to a maniac serial murderer the eighties but with modern touches. The 3D effects had been fairly good particularly with the pickaxes and the fences. The problem is just the colors were not as good as the 2D edition that is available on DVD/Blu-Ray.
The movie is a pretty average slasher, with the deranged miner with a gas mask and a costume as the protagonist, however, it begins the carnage very quick without much of its buildup except for most kind of tale recap background as when it was the direct sequel, but it is not. It’s never scary because the things happen really fast and because the guy in the miner suit is not that horrifying. As a side message, most of the tale does not take place in the mines. The mystery about who the maniac man behind that mask is enjoyable and it was well offered with the few false leads. However, there is no clear motivation that had offered for that maniac. The finale with the trio was also dramatic and strong.
