Narrative

In the little city of Cispus Falls at the central Oregon, Frank runs the meth lab out from the abandoned mine. Whereas the young son Aiden waited outside in the truck, Frank and the accomplice are being attacked by the unseen creature. Aiden also attacked, but then, he survived the encounter with a creature and go back home, where the condition worsens. Frank set-up the locked room and then demanded that whatever, Lucas, Aiden’s older brother, keep them locked-in.

After three weeks, Lucas spends the time roaming the city, gathering roadkill and murdering the small animals just before bringing them home. Julia, Lucas’s teacher, is alarmed by the odd behavior and terrifying drawings, and attempted to bond with a troubled boy. She starts to believe that Lucas was being abused and became firm to assist him, spurred by the personal encounter of childhood abused at the caring of the alcoholic and the mentally ill father. Since the current suicide of the father, she goes back to Cispus Falls so she could be with Paul, her brother, who’s a local sheriff, and also whom she felt guilty about dumping when she was still young. Julia visited Lucas’ rundown house and heard the odd sounds. Half of those remains of the accomplice of Frank are found inside the forest of the former sheriff Warren. Lucas has been keeping his now-ravenous sick father and brother locked-in and feeding them through the animal remains he retrieves.

Julia pressured Ellen, the principal of the school to paying Frank with a visit. Warren and Paul discovered the other side of the accomplice of Frank in the mine together with the side of the antler. Ellen discovered the room where Aiden and Frank were locked up, where she entered after unlocking. Ellen was killed by Frank before the antlers burst out from his body. Then Frank transformed into one savage horned creature, killed Clint Owens, Lucas’s school bully when Lucas was harassed by this boy. Then, a terrified Lucas flew home, where he discovered his brother and father gone.
Writer’s Notion

The movie is absolutely atmospheric, and that aid carried the movie in a great way. Certainly, the storyline itself was interesting, however, the director Scott Cooper chooses to spend more than an hour of playtime in setting the stage, leaving about playtime for 30 minutes of the movie wherein the movie began to pick up the pace and became interesting. For around 70 minutes, the movie was really, slow paced and there are some sort of bordering with being so bland and mundane that the viewers were about to surrender on it. However, the atmosphere that permeated this movie will make you stick with it, then hang on to witness what happened.
The give or take and last 30 minutes of this movie were the greater part. Just a bit of shame that this took the director that long to take the machinery in motion for the “Antlers”, because the film lost lots of appeal all along the way and the truth be told.
